What is DrAxeman.com & who is the good Dr?

DrAxeman is the online alias of Alex Weeks. Alex has been a working with Linux since around 1995, back during a time before "SCO" was such a hated term. (At least not as hated as it is today!)

Alex was introduced to UNIX while studing music in college. Finding that he liked using the command line more than the "point and click" mentality of Windows 3.1, he found himself spending more time helping out in the universities computer lab than he did working on his homework.

After college, it seemed that no matter where Alex worked, he became the computer guy. Instead of making pizzas, he was charged with developing a computer based ordering system / customer database. When he should have been taking inventory in a stock room, he was installing an inventory control system. He finally gave up the fight when he was asked to maintain a collections database instead of collecting the debts himself.

Over the course of his career, Alex has administered AIX, SCO, Solaris, and multiple flavors of Linux.

Computers are not his only interest though. Alex has been playing guitar since the age of 13. Currently he is in the process of recording his first solo album. More about this will be posted as it develops.
